Elder Network Grant
”Your contributions enabled us to be a vital link to the community”
Elder Network received a grant from the WFC Community Grant Cycle 1: Mission Critical in April of 2021. The organization received $7,000. The grant supported the Winona Mental Health Programming facilitated at the Elder Network.
This program provides services directly to seniors at affordable rates. These funds enabled seniors to stay living at home for longer, and also provided caregivers the support that they needed during the time of immense social isolation.
The grant also allowed the organization to start offering PEARLs coaching for depression and epilepsy, providing both in-person and virtual support groups, providing support and education for technology access, and other mental health supports for both seniors and their caregivers.
“Your grant made all the difference in our continued service of seniors and caregivers… this was critically important, as many of these individuals had few other options to support their needs”
An important part of the Winona Community Foundation’s mission is realized though awarding community grants to meet the ever-changing needs of the community through a competitive process. By doing so, a variety of interests are supported with the goal of helping local charities make a difference in the Winona area. Our community grants for nonprofits are broad and inclusive to meet the current community needs in the Winona area.
