Charity Golf Outing Success

The Winona Community Foundation had their 1st Annual Charity Golf Outing on June 25th, 2021 at the Bridges Golf Course. The purpose of the event was to help local charities make a difference in the Winona Area. By participating in this event, sponsors and volunteers were directly supporting the competitive Community Grant program that benefits local non-profits. Each year, the Foundation receives grant requests that far outweigh our available dollars to grant each year. In 2020, there were 32 eligible grant applications requesting $300,000 and the Foundation awarded 16 nonprofits the full $95,000 available.

The golf event raised $27,500 from their collective 33 sponsors which goes directly into the Community Grant Program for Cycle 2 due on August 1.

A special thank you to our major Augusta sponsor, the Helen Leaf Haun Fund, for their kindness through their $5,000 sponsorship. A big thank you to our Shinnecock sponsor, Bob Kierlin and Mary Burrichter, for their kindness through their $3,000 sponsorship. A thank you to all of our thirty-one other sponsors and participants, who were agents in making this event possible.

The Winona Community Foundation is a community leader and resource for giving and granting in the Winona Area. We serve non-profits and donors, big and small. People don’t give to the Winona Community Foundation; they give through us.
