With the help of a $7,500 grant from the Winona Community Foundation, the City of Winona has been able to replace and upgrade the exercise equipment used in its Active Wellness Center. With membership growing, so did the need for up-to-date equipment, along with adaptations to current equipment. New purchases included treadmills, dumbbells, exercise mats, weights, and more. This range of equipment supports each individual’s ability in their wellness journey.

Established in 2003, the Active Wellness Center provides wellness specialists, exercise equipment, and workout programs to adults 55 and older. Since the upgrades, membership feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

“Our membership is incredibly grateful for the upgraded equipment and being able to continue their fitness journey with our organization, regardless of where they are at on their journey,” shared Laura Hoberg, Director of Recreation for the City of Winona.
