The Winona Community Foundation hosted its 4th Annual Charity Golf Outing on June 28th, 2024 at the Bridges Golf Course in Winona. Twenty-four teams teed off to help raise funds for the Foundation’s Community Grant Program, which directly benefits non-profit organizations in the Winona area. The event raised more than $36,000 from its collective 33 sponsors which will go back into the community through grants that will be distributed this Fall.
The local non-profits that receive these grant dollars support a wide range of needs and opportunities in the Winona area, including education, arts and culture, health and human services, childhood literacy, and more. Each year, the Foundation receives more grant requests than there are available dollars to fulfill them all. Because of the support and participation of the golf event’s sponsors, non-profits will receive more funds to support their missions in our community. Earlier this year, $57,601 from the Community Grant Fund was awarded to nine organizations in the first grant cycle.
The event raised more than $36,000 from its collective 33 sponsors which will go back into the community through grants this Fall.
The Foundation extends a very special thank you to its two major sponsors: PNG Worldwide and In Memory of Helen Leaf Haun, for their generosity through their $5,500 sponsorships. The Foundation also sincerely thanks its Shinnecock sponsors, Bob Kierlin & Mary Burrichter and Merchants Bank, for supporting the event through their $3,300 sponsorships. All sponsors and direct donors were critical in making the event possible.
