About the Trinona Scholarship

The Trinona Scholarship was created to support students who are pursuing a degree in the field of mental health, with a particular focus on supporting youth mental health. This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to one eligible applicant who meets the following criteria:

  • Is enrolled in one of the following post-secondary educational institutions:

    • Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (Winona)
    • University of Wisconsin (La Crosse)
    • Viterbo University (La Crosse)
    • Winona State University
  • Have completed credits necessary to be considered a junior in the program in which they are enrolled with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50 on a 4-point scale

  • Complete an online application form submitting all required information including academic transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended

  • Desire to pursue a career in a field addressing youth mental health such as a counselor, licensed therapist, social worker, psychologist, or psychiatrist (list not meant to be inclusive) with a stated preference for practicing in Winona and/or surrounding communities

  • Letter of recommendation from an academic instructor/professor or direct internship advisor
