The Winona Community Foundation hosted their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Outing on June 23rd, 2023 at the Bridges Golf Course. 22 teams teed off to support the Foundation’s Community Grant Program, which directly benefits non-profit organizations in the Winona area. The event raised more than $31,000 from its collective 38 sponsors which will go back to the community through grants that will be distributed in Cycle 2.
The local charities that receive these grants support a wide range of initiatives in the Winona area, including education, arts and culture, health and human services, childhood literacy, and more. Each year, the Foundation receives numerous grant requests, but there are not enough available dollars to fulfill them all. Because of the support and participation of the event’s sponsors, local non-profits will receive more funds to support their causes in Cycle 2. This year, $55,240 from the Community Grant Fund has been awarded to nine organizations in Cycle 1.

The Foundation extends a very special thank you to our major Augusta sponsor, the Helen Leaf Haun Fund, for their kindness through their $5,000 sponsorship. The Foundation also sincerely thanks our Shinnecock sponsors, Bob Kierlin and Mary Burrichter and Merchants Bank, for their kindness through their $3,000 sponsorship. A thank you to all of our thirty-five other sponsors and participants, who were agents in making this event possible.
